World Cup 2006 - When Will Cambodia...
I dream of Cambodian Team going to the world cup. I am afraid and wonder whether I will live long enough to see Cambodia go to such a great event...
Cambodia shows herself for several times in Asean and Tiger Cup tournament. The result is not so good, but I still support the team. But the worst thing is that tv stations are less interested in broadcasting the overseas matches to Cambodia. For instance, we haven't watched Cambodian teams playing in the President Cup in Malaysia last month at all.I am not sure whether I live long enough to see Cambodia go to World Cup because of the management and problem in Cambodia Olympic Committee that oversees Cambodian Football Association. Recent news report about corruption and controversies are killing my dream.

I am also a cambodian citizen. I have always been proud of my country and our national sport team. However, the cambodian football team are not that qualified enough even to participate in the Asian cup. We are far beyond even in our region Asean :(
Why? Poor governance. Low budget. Lack of spirit. I have heard about the replacement of the head of the Cambodian Federation by an ex PM chief? I was not against the replacement since the ex was not doing good enough. But why Mr. Sao Sokha? I know that he was close to Hun Sen but it doesn't mean that he would be any better than the ex. I hope that i am wrong.... but this year SEA games in thailand, the cambodian team showed their poor performance, disgusting 8-0 against thailand, 3-0 against Indonasia and 6-0 against Myanmar. What a shame! :(

We're just lucky enough if we can beat Asia team, but we unlucky.
